Dog Track Rabbit

keep going.
you're almost there!
don't stop now.
how about a bigger house?
or a better ride?
move up in your company!
move in on a better man/ better woman!
get slimmer
get hired
get a degree
get published!
tired of the same old grind?
same old clothes?
same old spouse?
if you lived here you'd be home now.

  1. "Desire fuels everything feeds nothing." Wow that is one amazingly true line Shay!!! The entire poem is one long track of just that statement trailing to your wonderful finish line of poetic wisdom! Nothing is ever enough. There is always going to be something else we just have to have.

  2. Loved this from the title on (which sounds like a favorite cut from an album). That rhythm just shouts.

  3. I love it, especially those right-on closing lines. Stay hungry indeed. Things cannot feed what it is that we long for.

  4. Being content means NOT having everything - yet so many don't realize it. Clever poem!

  5. Love the title. I've had nothing and was happy, and am blessed to have plenty. It is the deep roots in my days of nothing that keep me humble and thankful these days.
